Digital X-Rays

Dental X-rays help us detect oral health issues in your mouth, like cavities and gum disease, before they worsen. There are many types of dental X-rays, including intraoral (taken inside your mouth) and extraoral (taken outside your mouth). Dental X-rays are essential to proper oral health and maintenance, and we are thrilled to offer state-of-the-art imaging for our patients.

Dental X-rays help your dentist diagnose a wide range of oral health issues:

– Cavities, especially small areas of decay between teeth
– Decay that’s under existing fillings
– Bone loss in your jaw

– Areas of infection
– The position of unerupted or impacted teeth
– Cysts and some tumors

– Abscessed teeth (infection at the root of your tooth or between your gums and your tooth)

We will also use digital X-ray images to help determine your candidacy for dental treatments like implants, and we can monitor healing following bone grafts and root canal procedures using digital X-rays.

We take digital X-rays at most new patient appointments, and these images provide our team with the information and insight we need to provide the unparalleled care you need and deserve. If you are looking for a dentist who doesn’t refer out for complex invasive procedures to restore the form and function of your mouth, teeth, and gums, please look no further than Dr. Bath at Impressions Dentistry.

CEREC® Technology

Our CEREC® (same-day) crown technology allows us to design and manufacture your dental crowns in-house, so you don’t have to wait several weeks between appointments while revisions are made to your permanent crown. We can do any final touches right here in-house.

Our advanced laser dentistry technology allows us to quickly perform hard and soft tissue dental work. Whether you need gum recontouring or cold sore treatment, the dental technology in our Olympia dental practice allows us to do more work in less time, which means you will be in and out of that dentist’s chair in no time.

CEREC® Same-Day Crowns

There’s a good chance you’ll need a dental crown at some point in your life. Even if you have excellent oral health and practice good oral hygiene at home, teeth get worn down over time, and issues arise that can be fixed with a CEREC® same-day dental crown.

CEREC® stands for “Chairside Economic Restorations of Esthetic Ceramics,” which we don’t expect you to remember. However, we want to share some amazing information with you here so you’ll know more about what to expect should you need a dental crown or a “cap,” as they’re called informally. CEREC® same-day dental crowns allow you to have a complete tooth restoration in just one visit.

The CEREC® same-day crown procedure utilizes some of the most advanced dental technology available today, allowing us to save and restore a tooth in no time. If any revisions or brush-ups are necessary, we can do that right here in our own office instead of waiting to send the restoration to an outside lab for alterations.

The CEREC® Difference

With traditional dental crowns, you must see a dentist twice (at least). The first visit involves preparing the tooth for a temporary crown while the permanent dental crown is manufactured in a lab. The second visit involves your dentist placing the dental crown and applying finishing touches to ensure it looks like your natural teeth, blends right in, and is strong and secure.

With advanced dental technology, Dr. Bath can build a custom-fitted, long-lasting, naturally colored dental crown in just one visit. With CEREC®, there is no need for a temporary crown while your permanent crown is manufactured. If you’re pressed for time and are looking for an effective, convenient dental solution to repair a damaged tooth, please consider same-day crowns at Impressions Dentistry.

More Dental Technology

CBCT (Cone-beam Computed Tomography) is used when regular dental or facial X-rays cannot see the details of your mouth, face, and head. Dr. Bath will use this technology to produce 3D images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bones in one single scan.

With CBCT, an X-ray beam in the shape of a cone is moved around your face to produce many images. CBCT produces exceptionally high-quality images so Dr. Bath can see everything very clearly. CBCT is used to evaluate diseases of the jaw, dentition, and bony structures of the face, nasal cavity, and sinuses. CBCT puts out less radiation exposure than a traditional CT scan.

iTero™ Intraoral Scanner: Most dental offices take impressions the old-fashioned way, which can be time-consuming and messy. The iTero™ scanner has a wand that’s gently moved around your mouth to capture brilliant three-dimensional images of your teeth and gums.

Dr. Bath uses the images captured by the iTero™ scanner to create 3D models for various procedures. The iTero™ scanner has many benefits over traditional impression materials, including more accuracy, comfort, and efficiency. With this revolutionary scanner, our patients no longer have to worry about the discomfort and gagging associated with traditional impressions. With the iTero™ scanner, we can provide more accurate treatment plans and a more efficient treatment process.
